Welcoming our new apprentices: investing in the future of precision engineering
This autumn, ASG Aerospace is welcoming a significant cohort of new apprentices across our operations in the UK and Germany. Spanning seven manufacturing and engineering sites, our new intake represents a major investment in developing the next generation of skilled professionals in aerospace and precision engineering.
Breadth of opportunity
Our apprentices are pursuing a wide range of specialisms, reflecting the diversity of ASG Aerospace. Some are studying degree-level electro-mechanical engineering through university partnerships including the University of Nottingham. Others are training in CNC operations, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, fitting and assembly, metrology, and business administration. Each pathway is tailored to our business needs and the apprentice's career aspirations.
This diversity means we're developing well-rounded engineers and specialists who understand not just how to make precision components, but why quality, efficiency, and safety matter at every stage.
Mentorship and career progression
Every apprentice is paired with a mentor, often an experienced leader or technical specialist within ASG Aerospace. Our mentors are invested in developing the next generation, sharing decades of know-how and opening doors to career progression. Many of our mentors were previous ASG Aerospace apprentices who have moved into leadership roles.
A return to tradition
For our Bremerhaven site in particular, this intake marks a return to a tradition we're proud of. For years, ASG Bremerhaven trained apprentices in precision machining and cutting operations developing the skills that drive our German operations. After a gap, we're resuming that commitment, partnering with the Vocational School for Technology, Bremerhaven.
