ASG Aerospace Celebrates £300 Million Rolls-Royce Investment as UK Aerospace Manufacturing Capacity Expands

ASG Aerospace welcomed Rolls-Royce’s announcement of a £300 million investment in its UK manufacturing and engineering facilities, describing the programme as a major boost for British aerospace manufacturing and the specialist supply chain supporting its future growth.

The investment will see Rolls-Royce expand and modernise facilities across Derby, Bristol, Glasgow, Rotherham and Warwickshire, supporting increasing demand across its Civil Aerospace and Defence businesses.

For ASG Aerospace, a long-established supplier to Rolls-Royce, the announcement represents a significant commitment to the manufacturing infrastructure required to support current engine programmes and future aerospace development.

The investment follows a period of sustained growth at Rolls-Royce, which has committed more than £3 billion to its UK operations since the beginning of its transformation programme in 2023.

Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of ASG Aerospace, welcomed the announcement and highlighted the importance of continued investment throughout the British aerospace supply chain.

“This is tremendous news for UK aerospace manufacturing and particularly encouraging for businesses like ours that have built long-standing relationships with Rolls-Royce,” said Jason.

“Investment of this scale creates confidence throughout the supply chain. It gives manufacturers greater visibility of future requirements and supports the decisions we are making around machinery, technology, capacity and the development of our people.

“Rolls-Royce is a hugely important customer to ASG Aerospace, and we are proud of the role our businesses play in supporting its engineering and manufacturing programmes.”

The announcement follows an important milestone for ASG Aerospace earlier this year, when group company ASG Arrowsmith was recognised as part of the Rolls-Royce High Performance Supplier Group at the Farnborough International Airshow.

The recognition reflects the strength of the relationship between the two businesses and the manufacturing performance required to support some of the aerospace industry's most demanding programmes.

For ASG Aerospace, maintaining these standards has been central to its investment strategy, with more than £10 million committed across the group over the past two years to advanced machining, automation, manufacturing technology and operational improvements.

Jason continued: “Being recognised within the Rolls-Royce High Performance Supplier Group at Farnborough was a proud moment for everyone involved at Arrowsmith.

“That recognition comes from the dedication of our people and the consistent performance they deliver. It also reflects the importance of investing in our capabilities and developing the skills needed to meet the evolving requirements of major aerospace customers.

Jason believes the latest announcement provides further encouragement for the UK aerospace sector as aircraft manufacturers and engine producers prepare for increasing production requirements.

“There is a tremendous amount of engineering expertise within the UK aerospace supply chain, and announcements like this demonstrate the confidence that major manufacturers have in that capability,” he said.

“For suppliers, the opportunity is to build on that confidence through continued investment, strong operational performance and close collaboration with customers. We have a long history of supporting Rolls-Royce, and we are very much looking forward to playing our part in the next chapter of its growth.”

Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Tufan Erginbilgic described the £300 million programme as a clear statement of the company's commitment to growing the UK's advanced manufacturing sector, supporting skilled employment and developing the infrastructure required for future aerospace programmes.

For ASG Aerospace and the wider British aerospace supply chain, the investment provides a substantial indication of the manufacturing activity and engineering capability that will be required over the coming years.
