ASG Aerospace Welcomes Airbus Investment as UK Production Capacity Grows
ASG Aerospace has welcomed Airbus’s latest investment in UK manufacturing, as the aircraft maker prepares to create 480 new jobs at its Broughton operation in North Wales.
Airbus is investing £150 million to convert its former A380 wing production facility into a new A321 production line, supporting the manufacturer’s plans to increase output across the A320 Family.
The refurbished facility will include six wing production jigs, an equipping line and paint shop, with all six jigs expected to be operational by the end of 2026. Around 250 of the newly announced positions will be based within the new facility, joining an existing workforce of approximately 6,000 people at Broughton.
For ASG Aerospace, a supplier to Airbus and other major aerospace programmes, the announcement provides further evidence of the production activity flowing through the UK aerospace sector.

The Broughton development is designed to support the company’s planned production ramp-up, with the A321 accounting for approximately three quarters of that figure
The announcement comes as ASG Aerospace continues its own investment programme across its UK and German manufacturing operations. More than £10 million has been invested by the group over the past two years, covering new machining capacity, automation and specialist manufacturing processes.
